FAQ

  • Who We Are

We are a progressive, international school in Pasig City, whose philosophy is that the education of every child should be a collaboration between home and school. We offer quality education at the preschool, primary and secondary levels, and we take pride in adhering to the rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum for our Primary Years Program (Kinder to Grade 6) and Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12). The IB programmes are internationally recognized model of excellence in curriculum development. For 18 years, we’ve been promoting the lasting spirit of discovery and a lifelong enjoyment of learning. We maximize learning by exposing the children early on to real-life, day-to-day experience and tasks, making learning practical and experiential.

In order to provide its students the best practices in education, we applied for international accreditation to implement the IB PYP in 2008. The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a non-profit educational foundation based in Geneva Switzerland that works with different schools, government, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education an rigorous assessment. In 2011, we became an IB World School and the second PYP school in the Philippines. With the IB authorization, we made IB education accessible to more children. Finally, in 2012 DIS marked another milestone by opening its Secondary Department. Last August 2017, we were accredited to offer the IB Diploma Programme.

  • Curriculum

How do you decide grade placement?

We follow the state (Department of Education) mandated placement, K-12. We also base it from the grade level completed in the last school attended.

What is the curriculum of Domuschola School?

We adhere to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), an international curriculum designed framework for children ages 3-12 years. It is internationally recognized as a model of excellence in curriculum development. Designed as an education for an increasingly borderless world, the Primary Years Program provides access to the best research and practices from a range of national systems from across the globe. It also breaks down the isolation of our educational system by providing us learning connections with schools around the world.

The Domuschola Secondary Curriculum employs the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) and university studies in the Philippines and overseas for Grades 11 and 12. It is informed by elements of Philippine national standards and relevant elements of other curricular programs. For Grades 7 to 10, we follow our own curriculum that is also based on the inquiry method and patterned after the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.
