Dear DIS Community,

As we prepare for another school year, we continue to reflect on how we can better serve our students and strengthen our school community. Improvement is not simply about introducing new programs or facilities. It is about creating an environment where students can learn well, grow in character, and experience a school culture that helps all of us become responsible and caring individuals.

Formative Discipline and Positive School Culture

At Domuschola, discipline is always rooted in our caring culture. Next school year, we will strengthen our formative discipline approach by emphasizing kindness, progressive reminders, and appropriate sanctions that help students understand the impact of their actions and make better choices. We want
discipline to be an opportunity for reflection, accountability, and personal development.

Attendance expectations, anti-bullying measures, and student well-being initiatives will also be strengthened. Our student leaders will play a more active role in promoting positive behavior, respect, and inclusivity among their peers. Together, we can build a school culture where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.

Responsible Gadget Use Policy

Technology is an important part of learning, but it must be used responsibly. To minimize distractions and maximize engagement in the classroom, the school will firmly implement its policy of no mobile phones during class hours. Students learn best when they are fully present and focused on the learning experience. We believe that reducing unnecessary screen distractions helps students develop better attention, stronger social interactions, and healthier learning habits. We ask for the support of parents in helping reinforce this important expectation.

Academic Improvements and Enriched Learning Experiences

We continue to invest in programs that enhance student learning. Greater use of quality online resources will support classroom instruction and provide students with additional opportunities for practice, inquiry, and independent learning. In the Primary School, free play opportunities will be extended to support creativity, social development, and overall well-being.

Our ICT program will also be expanded with the introduction of Robotics using Leanbot for students in Grades 6 to 8. This initiative aims to develop problem-solving, computational thinking, collaboration, and innovation skills that are increasingly important in today’s world. In addition, the computers at the Learning Resource Center will be upgraded to better support student learning and research.

Varsity Program Development

We are also committed to strengthening our Varsity Program as we continue to recognize and develop the talents of our student-athletes. Next school year, we will review training schedules to ensure that practices are purposeful, developmentally appropriate, and balanced with students’ academic responsibilities. We will also revisit the capabilities, qualifications, and development plans of our coaches to ensure that they are equipped to provide quality training and mentorship to our athletes. To further support athletic excellence, the school will explore greater use of external facilities that provide opportunities for specialized training and competition-level preparation. Our goal is to create an environment where student-athletes can develop their skills, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship while proudly representing the school.

Improved Cafeteria Experience

A positive school experience includes providing students with a comfortable and efficient lunchtime environment. Improvements will be made to cafeteria operations, including better scheduling of lunch periods, more organized queuing procedures, and enhancements to the payment system. We will also continue to expand the variety of healthy food options available to students. Good nutrition supports learning, concentration, and overall wellness, and we want our cafeteria to be a place where students can enjoy nutritious meals in a pleasant environment. dents.

Parent Representation and Partnership

A strong school community is built on meaningful partnerships between the school and families, as proven by the PSA for SY 2025-2026, Thank you, PSA! To further improve, we will implement a more structured process for the nomination and election of Parent Representatives across different year levels. This will provide parents with an opportunity to have the proper representation to contribute ideas, share feedback, and help strengthen communication between families and the school. When parents, teachers, and school leaders work together, we create a more supportive environment for our students.

Safe Spaces, Respect, and Professional Well-Being

The school remains committed to the effective implementation of the Safe Spaces Act and to maintaining a respectful environment for everyone in our community. All members of the school community are expected to contribute to a culture of dignity, professionalism, and mutual respect. We will continue to recognize school personnel as persons of authority (Education Act of 1982) and ensure that policies supporting respectful conduct are consistently implemented. We will also recognize the importance of work-life balance for our teachers and staff. Caring for those who educate and support our students allows them to serve our community with greater energy, dedication, and excellence.

We will continue to preserve and strengthen the many practices that have consistently made DIS a special place for learning. The warm relationships, caring culture, personal attention to students, strong sense of community, and commitment to holistic development remain at the heart of who we are. While we embrace improvements and innovation, we remain faithful to the values and traditions that have helped make DIS a great school for generations of students and families.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to another meaningful year of learning and growth.

God bless you
Mr. Gino Luayon,
Head of School
